As per Govt plan to extend flyover construction work, AMC had started the eviction drive at around 5 am on Sunday morning. TSECL CMD's claim proves false; Tripura | UDAIPUR / PALATANA, April 24 (TIWN): April end brings acute power shortage for the people of Tripura as OTPC's scheduled shut down in both units of Palatana started from 23rd Aprill. Shut down in Unit-I commenced from 17th of April and it will continue upto 24th of this month. This shut down is said to be a scheduled one as there are some maintenance works to be done in Unti-I and it is mandatory to be done after some intervals, said an OTPC engineer over phone on Saturday morning. He said that plant needs some maintenance after a long gap and this is exactly what is going on. On 24th April the maintenance work is likely to be completed. However, on 23rd April complete shut down has taken in both units- Unit-I and Unit- II. It is expected that by midnight of 24th April Unit-I will resume its generation . Gang-Rape horror saddens Gomati Dist : P | UDAIPUR, April 24 (TIWN): 5 days have been passed when a 15 year’s tribal girl was raped at Amarpur,Gomati Dist. but police yet to trace all of the accused. The incident occurred on April 20, and the victim has been identified as 15 year old girl, D/O-Dulumay Swaran Kumar Jamatia at Amarpur. Reportedly, at around 8 pm, on April 20 few miscreants including CPI-M’s Village Council Chairperson Mangal Debbarmma’s son named Pilak Debbarma alongwith CPI-M cadre Atanka Debbarma’s son Laxman Debbarma and few others entered the house of Dulumay Swaran Kumar Jamatia when his wife was away in household chores and taking that opportunity they forcefully taken her out of the home whereas her mouth was also taped by force. Whole night she was missing and it was on April 21st April that her injured, senseless body was found in a jungle.Getting informed by pedestrians she was immediately admitted to local hospital there, but soon she was referred to Gomati District Hospital due to her falling health.In between her parents were warned by the cadres to withdraw the FIR and also offered them bribes at around 2 pm on that very day.
