AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): Northern Tripura undergoing massive power crisis affecting the daily lives of millions of people. Many electrical posts were damaged and many have been remained unrepaired due to apathy of Tripura's lameduck Govt. Mostly affected areas have been identified as Padpmapur, Kadamtala, Panisagar, Tithoi. Repeatedly, after few splashes of rain every time, North Tripura goes dark as continuous loadsheddings cripple public life. North Tripura’s many areas even stay neglected even for 2 to 3 days over a week also. All these happen due to the loose connection of power lines. Allegations are coming that the state govt. presently is under huge trouble due to the large amount of unpaid bills and may be govt. is trying to manage the bill with long power cuts across Tripura. According to the sources, since 2 days after storms electricity supply completely stopped and due to this all hospitals are also in pathetic condition. In Dharmanagar, continuous loadsheddings stopped works inside operation theatre, even for hours emergency service was halted. Dharmanagar correspondent has reported that power has come back in many places, although some of the places still facing power cut.

However without any  prior announcement--in many places of North Tripura and South Tripura are facing acute  power-crisis now a days, even without storms also.

Everyday the power goes around 11 am and comes after evening, especially in other subdivisions except Agartala.  However, public don’t get relief either as from evening to next morning the load-shedding continues. Resentment has been brewing among the people due to continuous load-shedding.

Since last 2 days power was cut from Dhalai District and but electricity department had no concerns about it. North Tripura’s many subdivisions were also under the same problem, after the rain.
