Centre increased 6 pc DA; gap between st | AGARTALA, Sept 11 (TIWN): The gap between Tripura’s employees and central govt. employees once again widened with central govt.’s announcement of 6 percent DA(Dearly Allowance) to its employees. Tripura Chief Minister on 31st March, 2015 after cabinet meeting, announced to pay the state govt. employees as per the central pay scale, after which CM backtracked again and created massive controversy when only 5% DA was increased in the month of July. The gap with central govt. employees after 5% DA’s announce was still 39 %, and with central govt.’s the recent announcement of 5% DA the gap has increased into 45%. Ranajit Dey, Chairman of Joint Movement Committee of Teachers talking to TIWN said that State govt. had announced only 5% DA for State Govt employees, State has no inclination to follow central pay-scale. Interstate Bank robbers rattles lawless | AGARTALA, September 10 (TIWN): Tripura Police led by East Agartala and Teliamura Police Stations with the help of CCTV footage nabbed 6 Interstate robbers on Wednesday. Bank heists: Suspect’s CCTV foota | AGARTALA, September 9 (TIWN): In a major breakthrough, speaking to the media on Wednesday Police DIG Uttam Majumder informed that they have gone through all the CCTV footage of the Banks as well as the ATM counters and managed to identify that there are some gangs who visit the banks daily to keep tab on consumers. During the Press Conference, DIG Uttam Majumder alongwith other officers displayed the pictures of the miscreants who are involved at the Bank robberies. They also shown the CCTV footage of the banks and the act of the robbers. Besides, in a major blow police managed to arrest three miscreants from the Colonel Chouwmuhani near the TLA branch. While interrogation they managed to find out that the miscreants are from Jalpaiguri. Police also suspecting that the miscreants are mostly from outside the state.Detailing about the operation initiated by the East Agartala police, Majumder added that the miscreants visit the banks daily and keep eye on the consumers and the visitors. While eyeing over the consumers, the miscreants identified which of the consumers carries out huge bundle of notes from the bank. Later they followed the consumers and snatched the money.â€Police teams have examined CCTV footage obtained from many banks in the city and pinned down this particular clipâ€, said DIG Majumder.He further sought the help of the media asking to release the video clippings in the media so that the people can be made aware about the gangs and they can identify the miscreants. Six percent hike in DA for central gover | AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): The union cabinet on Wednesday approved an additional dearness allowance (DA) of six percent for central government employees from July 1."Cabinet today (Wednesday) approved six percent DA to central government employees," Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters after a cabinet meeting here.The DA hike will benefit 50 lakh government employees and 56 lakh pensioners, who are entitled to increased dearness relief (DR).DA, paid as proportion of basic pay to compensate for price rise, has been raised to 119 percent from 113 percent of the basic pay.The combined impact on the exchequer on account of DA and DR would be Rs 6,655.14 crore per annum and Rs.4,436.76 crore for a period of eight months from July 2015 to February 2016. In April, the government had hiked DA by 6 percent to 113 percent with effect from January. As per the formula, the DA rate increase is an average of 12-month consumer price index-industrial workers from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.In comparison, Tripura State Govt employees are paid the lowest in country,in average Tripura State Govt employees are paid approx one third to half salary of what their Central Govt counterparts get every month. | 09-Sep-2015 |

Expired Medicine Scam : Opposition place | UDAIPUR, September 9 (TIWN): Demanding to provide overall health service in the Gomati District, District Congress on Tuesday placed 9 charter point deamnds to Gomati District CMO Nirmohan Jamatia.Keeping ahead the issue of the girl namely Debjani Bhowmik, who has been pushed with an expired saline when she was admitted in Tripura Sundar Jela Hospital on September 1st, the opposition has placed the deputation.They has demanded to provide strict punishment to the involved individuals.It is to be mentioned here that the Tripura Sundari Hospital, the only sub-divisional Hospital left in deplorable condition since 1 year, after the district hospital had been shifted to Tepania.Besides, The Oppositions has been demanding for this hospital’s renovation for long time so that the local people of Udaipur may be benefited.But instead of renovation, Tripura Sundari Jela Hospital’s all equipments have been transferred into Gomati District Hospital in 2014, after Minister Tapan Chakroborty's inauguration of the district hospital at Tepania.They demanded to initiate child ward, Maternity ward, surgery, operation theatre and others.
