AGARTALA, Sept 11 (TIWN): The gap between Tripura’s employees and central govt. employees once again widened with central govt.’s announcement of 6 percent DA(Dearly Allowance) to its employees. Tripura Chief Minister on 31st March, 2015 after cabinet meeting, announced to pay the state govt. employees as per the central pay scale, after which CM backtracked again and created massive controversy when only 5% DA was increased in the month of July. The gap with central govt. employees after 5% DA’s announce was still 39 %, and with central govt.’s the recent announcement of 5% DA the gap has increased into 45%. Ranajit Dey, Chairman of Joint Movement Committee of Teachers talking to TIWN said that State govt. had announced only 5% DA for State Govt employees, State has no inclination to follow central pay-scale. However, now Central govt. has announced additional 6 % DA, which has created again a massive gap between the salaries of state govt. and central govt. Communist CPI-M ruled Tripura is the only State in country which donot follow Union Finance Commission recommendations and pay the least salary, DA to its employees. Ranajit Dey further criticized by saying that Manik Srakar gives hopes to his people every time, but in reality people of Tripura, especially the employees are deprived since decades and no hope till Manik Sarkar remains Chief Minister.

“TGEA (Tripura Govt. Employee Association) and other CPI-M backed committees always remain happy with any amount DA to butter political masters”, said Dey.

It’s to be mentioned that once again Tripura Govt. has come under scanner, with the additional 6% DA announced by centre.

“When the central govt.’s 7th pay commission will start from January 1st, 2016, the matter will become worsened.

Tripura Govt., if based on the present pay band/pay scale applies the “2 scale theory" then no improvement of situation ”, Ranajit Dey told TIWN.

Earlier, Teachers Union and opposition Cong. through various press conferences condemned over the mere 5% DA’s increase.

Although Manik Sarkar announced 5% DA with full enthusiasm but in reality, goal was just to fool the employees and public.

Talking to TIWN, Ranajit Dey he also said criticizing the “poor pay-scale” in comparison with the central govt.’s. pay-scale, “State govt. has made the people fool and we already asked Tripura CM with the demand of the employees’ rights on full wages and to solve the issue within November, 2015.

However, in this month we will again remind him about our demands”.

When divulging about  the structure of Pay scale, Dey added, “When Central Govt. dictated the state govt. about the pay-scale, it was filled with many loop-holes i,e, Rs. 2000/- as house rent, doesn’t come under the salary of the state govt.”

He further mentioned, the recently announced State pay-band and grade-pay will never come into the level of central pay-band and grade-pay, till the Govt. doesn’t follow 14th and earlier  Finance Commission recommendations to the level of the central govt.’s  pay-scale and match the Central’s announcement of 6 percent DA, the gap is now 45%.

In present situation, the employees will never be benefited and the deprivation and allegations will be continued, said Dey.
