SABROOM / AGARTALA, September 11 (TIWN): Following the shocking attack on Judge at Sabroom Court during All India Strike on 2nd September, Police arrested 4 of the picketers on September 6 who are involved in this ghastly attack on democracy. After producing the before the court on that very day, court sent 4 of them to 6 days jail custody. However, they will be produced before the court on Friday. The name of the 4 accused are: Bijay Dey, Biswajit Dey, Abhijit Dey and Abhik Basak.“The accused will be produce before the court on Fridayâ€, confirmed SP South while talking to TIWN. However, it is to be mentioned that following the alleged attack on the Sabroom Court Magistrate Saurav Saha and Sabroom PS OC Sanjit Sen by the CPI-M goons in front of Sabroom court, the victims has lodged a complaint with Sabroom police station. However only 2 were arrested till the visit of Chief Justice.Chief Justice Deepak Gupta visited the spot on September 5 and asked the police, DM & ADM to take action soon.Chief Justice also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to take prompt action. Within 24 hours of High Court Chief Justice Deepak Gupta's visit in Sabroom and his meeting with officials regarding the attack of CPI-M cadres on Magistrate Sourabh Saha,
Sabroom Police got green signal from Melarmath and Chief Mnister and promtly arrested 2 more culprits. While talking to TIWN; SP South Bhanupada Chakraborty mentioned that police arrested 2 more accused namely Abhijit Dey, resident of Anandapara, Sabroom and Abhik Basak, resident of Amtali, Sabroom from their own houses on Sunday early morning at around 3 am.
In total FIR has been lodged against 4 persons for attacking Magistrate including other officials, two of them earlier arrested namely Bijay Dey and Biswajit Dey.
It’s to be mentioned that police was initially failed to arrest the accused CPI-M leaders even after 3 days passage of time, but just after the visit Chief Justice and his condemnation upon the incident police immediately caught them.
