Fuel crisis likely to over tomorrow: Sta | AGARTALA, October 08 (TIWN): Police personnel were deployed at petrol stations to regulate thousands of motorists who thronged the outlets fearing acute shortage of fuel in Agartala. The city has been reeling under limited fuel supplies for the past few days.While speaking to TIWN, Director of Food & Civil Supplies Soumitra Banerjee, today, said that a total of 86 loaded oil tankers in which 51 are of diesel, 25 are of petrol and 10 are of kerosene are on its way from Assam to Tripura. We expect that the situation would be normalized within tomorrow," said the Director. The state government has asked the petrol pump owners and operators to sell a maximum of two to five liters of fuel per vehicle. Opportunist traders making most of fuel | AGARTALA, October 7 (TIWN): Vehicle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.The crisis was started from last October 1. All the petrol pumps of Agartala and other major cities have been witnessing a long queue for getting fuel since morning to late night but many of them went back with empty tanks. Hundreds of vehicles were seen waiting in front of petrol filling station while many centers had hanged the board of No-Petrol. 17 Crore MGNREGA Scam: No progress in in | AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): The massive MGNREGA scam of Bishalghar Rural Development block worth Rs 17 crore is still remain unrevealed even after 18 days of filing FIR. Since the beginning police have been acting as mute spectators. According to the sources, the ruling government and the other party heads of Melarmath have been working hard to conceal this mega rip-off. According to a communiqué inside block, the amount of Rs 17 crore may be increased and over 80 block employees are involved into the MGNREGA scam. The source also confirmed that a vast number of CPIM Local Committee (LC) leaders are allegedly engaged with this scam.
