Gold stocks up ahead of Diwali festival

Agartala, Oct 9 (TIWN): After celebrating Durga Puja and Laxmi puja, people of Tripura now gearing up to rejoice the occasion Diwali festival on October 23. To accomplish the demand of state people, all the renowned jewellery houses have been making huge gold stocks ahead of this festival.

To mark the festival ‘Dhanteras’ (Diwali), a vast number of women from different corners of Tripura throngs in the  jewelleries of the capital city- Agartala to purchase gold ornaments. It is to be mention here, the ongoing price of gold is Rs 25497.45 per 10 gm as of today’s market.

“Now what we are seeing, the things are returning back to normal, people are coming back and the gold prices are stable. What we are witnessing is a back in the consumer footfalls as well as up going sales and more conversion of footfalls into sales as well. If the same trend continues then the upcoming festive season can be expected to be a bumper one,” said the owner of a well-known jewellery store in Agartala.

Besides, the clay artisans have also been started to make idols of Maa Kali in the Murti Para. The different Kali puja organizing clubs have also been planning a grand celebration of Diwali, this year. The main celebration of DIwali festival will be organized at Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur sub-division.
