Uncertainty looms over 10,323 teacher te | AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN): In another major blow to hapless teachers, once again the Apex court has postponed the date of hearing for the teacher terminated case on April 21.It is to be mentioned here that the much awaited 10,323 teacher termination case which was supposed to be produced before the Apex court on Monday is once again postponed and the next hearing for the case will be done on April 21.It seems like uncertainty looms large over the progress of the case. Like previous year it seems that this year also the case may longer with the excuse of postponed.Supreme Court has been hearing the case following the interlocutory application filed by the Tripura Govt. challenging the High Court’s verdict on May 7, 2014.According to the reports, in the year 2014 the Apex Court stayed the HC order to terminate the jobs of at least 10, 323 teachers and allowed them to continue their service until the final disposal of the case.However, Supreme Court was supposed to hear the interlocutory application long back which was filed by the Tripura Government to save the terminated jobs of at least 10, 323 Graduate, Under Graduate and Postgraduate teachers.Earlier Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty expressed that the State Government is very hopeful for a positive outcome. Besides, he also said that if the outcome is positive than jobs of many youths will be saved. Union Minister proposes ‘Farmer-fr | AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN) : Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at parliament during the announcement of the 3rd Union budget said that the Govt. has focused on 9 pillars which are to be set up in India for its overall economic development. Govt. has also challenged to make the income of the farmers double in 5 years. The 9 pillars are : 1. Agriculture and farmers' welfare, 2. rural sector, 3. social sector including healthcare, 4. infrastructure,5. financial sector reforms, 6.ease of doing business, 7. fiscal discipline, 8. tax reforms 9. education, skills and job creation to reduce compliance burden. Breaking news : cheated 'business partne | AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN): In a shocking development, one businessman named Samir Debnath sneaked into the CPI-M State headquarter at Melarmath around 8.30pm on Sunday night and assaulted Transport Minister Manik Dey with a chair over the alleged dispute of pending business transaction of Rs 4 lakhs cash dealings between Minister and the lone attacker. In the scuffle, Minister Badal Chowdhury also was hit on hand as Minister Manik Dey was trying to duck from violent attack. Ministers and other CPI-M functionaries nabbed the attacker and handed over to police. While trying to save Minister , Health Minister Badal Choudhury was injured. Attacker is identified as Samir Debnath who belongs to an influential CPI-M family from Ranirbazar area of Agartala. According to eyewitnesses, Samir Debnath came to meet Transport Minister Manik Dey on sunday evening and demanded Rs 4 Lakhs rupees which allegedly owed by Minister Manik Dey as part of ‘business transactions’ between them. Samir Debnath shoutedly asked Manik Dey to pay the Rs 4 Lakhs money on the spot as his father is critically ill and admitted into a private hospital. 10323 Teachers Termination : Countdown b | AGARTALA, Feb 28 (TIWN): Just counting hours left for the Teacher Termination case to be produced before the apex court on February 29. The much awaited case will decide the fate of the 10,323 terminated teachers. Peoples have been eagerly waiting for the court’s judgement. However, for prolonged many months the case has been facing delay due to allegedly lack of required documents regarding the case. Earlier talking to TIWN correspondent, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty expressed hopes over a positive judgement from the apex court. It is to be mentioned here that the teacher terminated case was suppose to be produced before the court in the month January but due to some unknown reasons the case has been further postponed on February 29. A division bench of the Tripura High Court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, in its judgment May 7, 2014 terminated the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers citing discrimination and irregularities. It is to be mentioned here that the Tripura High Court also asked the state government to put in place a fresh recruitment process by December 2014 and frame a new employment policy within two months.According to a report, the then Chief Secretary of Tripura and former Union Textile Secretary S. If the patient parties wish to go there, they have to take a narrow gate which is set behind the hospital.Altogether 2 doctors are here for this hospital but most of the time they remain absent, as alleged by the local people. After the results has been declared on Saturday BJP and Congress suffered from a major shock after the parties have failed to grab a single seat at the Village Committee level. Newly converted BG track is all set to r | AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): North Eastern Frontier railway Chief Engineer (Construction)-NFR Harpal Singh on Friday in a visit to Agartala railway station said that there was no obstruction in running the freight train to Agartala railway station which reached to the station on Thursday night. Speaking to media, Chief Engineer (Construction)-NFR Harpal Singh said that goods loaded train reached successfully to Agartala railway station and there were no hurdles while running the train in the newly converted BG track up to Agartala. It is to be mentioned here that a 40 Wagoner train popularly known as ballast train reached Agartala railway station on Thursday night. He further said that the track is all set to run the BG passenger train from Agartala as soon as possible, but the service cannot start before getting clarification from the CRS team. When asked about the commencement of CRS inspection, Singh said that the inspection will be completed by March.Taking a look at the work progress of the Agartala work station, Singh said that the process of laying track is almost completed now the entire concentration is laid on the construction of the Agartala railway station.Just when counting days are left for the official beginning of the BG passenger’s railway service in the state by March31 the workers are busy in fixing the signals along the newly converted BG railway tracks. | 26-Feb-2016 |
