PANISAGAR, Feb 27 (TIWN) : Ambulance, beds, proper sanitary system, cleanliness—all these are matters of dream for the people of PaniSagar, under North Eastern zone of state Tripura. After the 22 year’s regime of left front govt here, the health service has remained poor and NRHM sign boards are hanging before the hospitals just for name-shake. The rural areas are the most victims of poor health service in Tripura. Although there are few primary health centers, but no proper facility are given to the patients by the health dept. under Tripura Govt. Whereas in the name of health service every year crores of funds are getting allocated, but the proper utilization of those funds are invisible. The Tilthai Primary Health center, which is the only health center at Panisagar area upon which around 40,000 people are dependent, is left in deplorable condition and the condition is deteriorating day by day. There is no proper entry way here in this health center. If the patient parties wish to go there, they have to take a narrow gate which is set behind the hospital.Altogether 2 doctors are here for this hospital but most of the time they remain absent, as alleged by the local people. The number of nurses are only 4, whereas the seat capacity is 10 and rest of the patients have to lie on the floor.

Allegations has been always raised by local perople that despite of emergency the patient party of the hospital never finds doctors in time.

The hospital is very small and no special facility is there for any kind of emergency service. As a result, the life of people of Panisagar area, has become tough at there.

It’s worthy to mention that the most of the health centres in Tripura are running lack of adequate number of doctors and nurses. Besides, the patients are also suffering from lack of beds and insufficient infrastructure.

Before few days an incident had hit the health dept. when a doctor declined to check a patient saying that the outdoor was closed. The incident occurred at Khowai Dist. TSR Jawan had been admitted to the health centre. But the doctor in charge namely, Subandu Sankar Majumder said that the outdoor has been closed and declined to treat the patient.

However, Minister Badal Chowdhury's Health Dept. should wake up from slumber and take few steps against the dying condition of the health service.
