AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN): With an aim to curb down rising mosquito breeding in various major areas, Agartala Municipal Corporation have decided to spray DDT.

According to the official reports, some of the areas in the state are massive hit with the mosquito breeding. People are facing harassment and it may lead to malaria prone area.

Just with the change in the season the mosquito breeding is on rise.

However, locals said if no action has been taken to control the mosquito breeding the areas it may lead to malaria and various other diseases.

Besides, sources mentioned that various interior parts are also hit with the mosquito breeding.

It is to be mentioned here that as a part of preventive measure of malaria, Agartala Municipal Corporation has decided to spray DDT in various major areas.

The area includes municipality area, Nagar Panchayat and many other malaria prone areas. Malaria is a major public health problem in Tripura and focal disease outbreaks are of frequent occurrence.

Despite of taking several initiatives by the State Government in the Malaria prone areas, even today people are getting affected with the Malaria mosquito.

According to the report till August 31 of the year 2015, altogether 22, 562 people are attacked by the Malaria virus and a total of 16 people died.

Despite of several tall claims by the authority that the number of death has been decreased by 50 percent, common people has beenlosing their life due to the Malaria outbreak.

However, with an aim to decrease most of the mosquito breeding areas initiatives are going to be taken.

It is to be mentioned here that where the authority has instructed for spraying DDT in the major areas, the same AMC is allegedly unable to keep the battala are clean where huge amount of garbage are dumped and creates a dirty environment.

Where it is the duty of the AMC to keep the city clean most of the time the Battala area remains dirty and smelly. It has been seen that the AMC garbage carrying truck always carries the garbage during the office time which creates problem for the vehicles as well as for the commuters.
