AGARTALA, Feb 28 (TIWN): Just counting hours left for the Teacher Termination case to be produced before the apex court on February 29. The much awaited case will decide the fate of the 10,323 terminated teachers. Peoples have been eagerly waiting for the court’s judgement. However, for prolonged many months the case has been facing delay due to allegedly lack of required documents regarding the case. Earlier talking to TIWN correspondent, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty expressed hopes over a positive judgement from the apex court. It is to be mentioned here that the teacher terminated case was suppose to be produced before the court in the month January but due to some unknown reasons the case has been further postponed on February 29. A division bench of the Tripura High Court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, in its judgment May 7, 2014 terminated the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers citing discrimination and irregularities. It is to be mentioned here that the Tripura High Court also asked the state government to put in place a fresh recruitment process by December 2014 and frame a new employment policy within two months.According to a report, the then Chief Secretary of Tripura and former Union Textile Secretary S. K Panda and Principal Secretary (Education) Banamali Sinha are the main architects in providing job to the 10323 teachers without following the rule of law.

However, after prolonged several months also the case has not been solved yet. Every time the case has been produced before the court, it gets delayed every time. The delay in the judgement leads to uncertainty over the fate of 10, 323 teachers.

It is to be mentioned here that Left Front Government of Tripura have recruited 1,100 post-graduate and 4,617 graduate teachers in 2010 and 4,606 under-graduate teachers in December 2013.

However, it is expected that finally with the case produced before the court on February 29 and if the decision is taken for the State than many teachers job will be saved.
