BJP condemns the attack over the common mass

AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janta Party of the State on Monday staged a protest rally condemning the attack over the common mass and the chaos occurred during the village committee election tenure.

The rally has walked across the city and assembled in the party office at Krishnanagar. During the protest rally, the BJP supporters condemn over the clash and the chaos broke out during the Village Committee election.

It is to be mentioned here that during on the day of counting incidents of clashes and chaos has been reported from various places. Besides, on the day of election also various problems have been reported.

There was report of violence between CPI-M and IPFT workers at a counting hall under the Lefunga development block in northern Agartala. At least two persons were injured and extra security was deployed to ease tensions.

According to the reports, as soon as the vote counting had begun both the members of IPFT and CPI-M got engaged into scuffle in front of the counters mainly in four blocks, which has created chaos in the area.

However, raising voice against the attack over the common mass during the election tenure, supports of BJP on Monday condemns over the incident. Besides, they also urged to stand against the violence over the common mass.

It is to be mentioned here that the re-polling of Village Committee Election has been conducted in two village committee of Jampui and Charilam as there were some problem on the day election of February 24.

Reportedly, election has been conducted in two village committee which includes Bangshibari ADC village (ward number 2, 3, 4) and Longtrai ADC village (ward number- 7).

However, polling at Bongshi Bari under Charilam Block has been conducted in Rangapalia School.

According to the reports, till 1pm the vote has been recorded 40 percent. The polling was suppose to be end by February 24 but due to some issue re-polling has been conducted over four seats.
