Trouble at Palatana plant, experts arriv | AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): After receiving SOS from the OTPC, two experts from General Engineering Company, a US based company today arrived at Palatana to undertake necessary repair on the 376 MW power plant, official sources confirmed. As per the agreement, two engineers of GEC are stationed at Palatana plant to oversee its operation of the turbines.Of late, the production of Palatana plant has been reduced to 180 MW which is almost fifty percent to its installed capacity causing concern for the OTPC. More 1,200 affected with malaria, no dea | AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Healthcare personnel today diagnosed 1,222 more patients with malaria parasite across the state. The entire malaria afflicted population rose to 21,237 today. A total of 5,645 fever patients were diagnosed across the state today, an official communiqué said here today.The state government has adopted the highest possible measure to combat the malaria outbreak that cost sixty lives till date.
