Agartala Heritage Park – offering | AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): The Heritage Park, spread over twelve acre of land,is located at the centre of the city, on the northern side of Raj Bhawan on the Agartala-GBP Hospital road. This park was inaugurated on the 30th November 2012 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Tripura. Entrance to the park has an imposing gate constructed with depicting the rich tribal, nontribal mixed cultural heritage of Tripura, both tribal and non-tribal. The park has three parts, viz. (i) mini-Tripura located in about three acre of land at the entrance, (ii) central area being raised as natural forest, and (iii) a plain table land with medicinal plants, herbs and shrubs. The government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has a special soft corner for Tripura, has already allowed transhipment of 10000 MT of foodgrains to Tripura using this sea-river route. But 'vested interests' in FCI and railways have played the mischief, convincing an inept state administration that this route may prove more expensive than railway transhipment through Assam. State suffers from power crisis, 67 MW d | AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): Tripura is currently suffering from acute power crisis with a daily deficit of 67 MW, official sources said. A highly placed source in the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) today said that the state is currently having an average daily requirement of power stands at 235 MW. The state is having 63 MW from own generation. Police atrocities in Udaipur; investigat | UDAIPUR, July 25 (TIWN): In an interesting move changing its tactics in police atrocities on 19th July in Udaipur state govt has handed the case to CID to investigate. It is learnt from a top level official in the State Home Ministry that in her priliminary report to Chief Secretary S K Panda DM Gomati raised question marks on the role of the police while handling the case.
