AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN) : In a bid to lend a hand in the fight against Malaria in the state, ONGC Tripura asset distributed 1100 medicated mosquito nets in the worst affected Dhalai district of the state in consultation with Chief Medical Officer and administration. The team from ONGC was led by Asset Manager V P Mahawar and comprised of senior officials and members of collectives and was accompanied by DM Dholai Dr. Milind Ramteke & CMO-Dhalai.

The team visited Manikpur, Longtharai, Ganganagar and Gandachera areas of Dhalai district to distribute medicated mosquito nets among the affected population.

The people were asked to use the mosquito nets regularly, to take all precautionary measures and to report for medical treatment to nearby hospitals & PH centers in case of fever. In praise worthy initiative, medicines and mosquito repellents were also distributed by ONGC Contractors to support the efforts of ONGC.   

The mosquito nets were stitched on an urgent basis by the NGO Tripura Jute Mill Play Centre, a Self Help Group at Amtali comprising of village women who had earlier been trained under ONGC CSR Initiative to develop entrepreneurship. District administration- Dhalai has carried out medication of mosquito nets prior to distribution.

ONGC Tripura Asset has regularly taken and supported initiatives to supplement the efforts of State Government during natural calamities and epidemics. Apart from that ONGC also conducts regular health camps on its own near its operational areas in various parts of the state.

Asset Manager Shri V.P.Mahawar has said that ONGC Tripura Asset is ready to provide additional further assistance if required to save precious lives of the people in the state. He also thanked DM-Dhalai district & CMO for their help & cooperation in the noble cause.
