Agartala, July 8 (TIWN): Along with the entire state, 25th martyr day of former SFI state committee member Arun Deb was observed today at Ambassa. To mark the day, SFI, Ambassa Divisional Committee organized a blood donation programme here in the conference hall of TRTC society.

A total of 31 blood donors donated their blood during the programme. State President of SFI Nilanjana Roy inaugurated the blood donation camp. Addressing the programme, Nilanjana said, “Comrade Arun Deb departed us. But, we are following the path showed by him. While protesting the vote rigging as a CPI (M) polling agent in a polling centre at Simna in Zilla Parishad election in the year 1990, by that time SFI state committee member allegedly became martyr by a section of then Congress leaders in the broad day light. Yet we failed to wipe away the tears of our martyr leader’s mother”.

“He was born on July 08, 1962 and died on the same date in the year 1990. As we are responsible towards the society and its welfare, we have been organizing blood donation camps in the entire state. Left Front developed education after coming into power in 1978. But coalition government of Congress and TUGS implemented the reign of jungles from 1988 to 1993. About 350 Left Front workers and supporters were murdered during the period including Arun Deb. Again Left Front came into power in 1993 and took the state in the era of development through democratic movement. Maintaining the democratic power in the state will be the real tribute to martyr Arun Deb”, said state President. Besides, SFI Divisional Secretary Tapas Das Barman addressed the programme.
