Tripura helicopter service likely to get | AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): State – owned Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited (PHHL) lone chopper service of Tripura is likely to get affected as CISF (Central Industries Security Force) will no longer carry security check up from September next said TIWN sources. Due to shortage of CISF personnel and work pressure they decided to provide security to PHHL till July 30, but it was extended for one month after Tripura government requested Union Ministry of Home Affairs still some alternative arrangements are made. To resolve the problem, Tripura government has convened a meeting on 26 July (Saturday) at secretariat. Tripura High Court dismisses medico†| AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): The High Court of Tripura on Thursday dismissed a plea of Dr. Pratap Sanyal, a veteran doctor serving under the Department of Health and Family Welfare in the state, against a lower court verdict and asked Judicial Magistrate (first class) of Agartala to proceed with criminal negligence charges against the doctor. One dies and 15 injured in road mishap | AMBASSA, July 25 (TIWN): In a tragic road accident, one passenger was died and at least 15 passengers were injured at Kalabari under Ganganagar police station around 5.30 pm, this evening. The deceased was identified as Buddhiroy Reang (25), confirmed police. According to police, the incident took place while a commander jeep bearing the number TR01-A-2098 was overturned while it was proceeding towards Ganganagar from Kalabari. Transport Department to introduce online | AGARATALA, July 24 (TIWN): The state Transport Department is going to introduce online payment gateway to reduce pressure on road tax payment receiving offices, official sources said here today. Tripura is currently having over 2 lakh 30 thousand registered vehicles including two-wheelers, a highly placed source in the state Transport Department said. The source added that around 50 percent of the total vehicle traffic plying on the streets of Tripura. A protester alleged that the residents are facing acute drinking water crisis since few days in the said locality. Manarchak: Gas by next two months | AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Laying of gas pipe line for NEEPCO’s power plant at Monarchak is carried out at war footing and the work likely to be completed by mid of August said official sources of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). After completion of work, ONGC will be ready to supply gas to the plant by the next two months said the source.Besides, ONGC had already paid fifty percent of the pending payment to the sub contractors. It may be recalled here that the Shivani Oil and Gas Company, which was tasked to lay the gas pipeline. But they failed to pay the pending amount to sub contractors after the agency was declared bankruptcy. To solve the issue, the ONGC, Tripura Asset has taken initiative to pay the sub-contractors for executing the remaining gas pipe-line work.
