Speaking to reporters at the civil secretariat here this evening, the official said that few platoons of BSF were deployed in all areas which were marked as sensitive from previous record of electoral margin and complaints of different political parties. BSF platoons were deployed in Kushamara in Kakraban block under Gomati district, Dhalabil in Khowai district, Mohanpur in West Tripura district, Durga Chowmunani block in Dhalai district and Karaimura, NC Nagar, Sonamura in Sepahijala districts, Kumar informed.

Additional TSR deployments were made in all police stations of the state to act as strike force on the wake of any unprecedented incident. All 35 election observers appointed by the State Election Commission for the coming three tier panchayat election have reached concerned duty stations by Thursday morning. All 165 special sector officers appointed for the election process were deployed and all eighteen thousand poll personnel are currently receiving the last phase of mock poll training across the state.

In a video-conferencing session with all DMs and BDOs this evening, the State Election Commissioner requested concerned officials to ensure zero unauthorized entry inside polling stations, pasting of fliers with contact numbers of RO, BDO, SDPO, SP and other officials in front of all polling stations to aid common people to lodge complaints in case of any emergency etc.

“We are clear about our objective that voters should get their due in the election”, Kumar said.

He added that all voters from outside a given Panchayat constituency would be sent back to prevent chances of false voting, naka and drop-gates would be set up in interception points of all panchayats and dry day would be fully enforced.
