AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Tripura is one of the best states in the NE to host investments and big initiatives, Tripura Chief Secretary Dr. Sanjay Kumar Panda said here today. Addressing a one-day Tripura Conclave - a policy dialogue organized by Tripurainfoway.com at Sukanta Academy auditorium in Agartala this afternoon, the Chief Secretary said Tripura was the only state to have the second largest rubber production in the country, one of the best natural resources, a huge natural gas and oil deposit, a very favorable human resource development index – all rolled into one.

He urged for building a strategic partnership based on mutual strength conducive to growth for universal brotherhood, peace and development. “Evolving a strategic partnership between contenders to bring about a win-win situation”, Dr. Panda added.

The Chief Secretary today said that the economic parameters of industrial possibilities in Tripura are very high. “We are having a transparent government, investment friendly situation and a very ambient law and order situation. Insurgency is now under control in the state, thanks to Bangladesh and the people of Tripura”, he stated.

Indicating at high possibilities of trade with Bangladesh and beyond, Chief Secretary Dr. Panda said that Tripura is barely 75 Km away from the Chittagong port. “Today’s world is about meeting the expectations of the youths. We need to work together, cutting across international and national
borders”, the Chief Secretary added.

The Tripura Conclave was attended by former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and Chairman of the Bangladesh Parliamentary standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Dr. Dipu Moni, former Indian ambassador to Myanmar Alok Sen, leading China-India expert Dr. Jabin Jacob among
others.
