Political parties hit the dust with poll campaign, TSR deployed in various police stations

Agartala, July 6 (TIWN): With the Panchayat election at the forefront, political parties have kicked off massive campaign in every part pf the sub divisions and each political parties started firing salvos at each other. Paying heed to the issue, the administration has deployed TSR in various police stations of the state.

TSR is also appointed to perform the duty of police personnel. Though they perform all their duties properly, yet most of their demands remained inside the closed files sparking resentment among the TSR jawans. A number of files consisting of the demands still remained at police headquarters and government. A few demands include the welfare of TSR jawans. Notwithstanding the negligence of Home Department towards the demands of TSR jawans, no negligence has been observed in the duties performed by the jawans. The state has not witnessed any extremist activities till days. In remote places, the jawans need not to remain on duty passing sleepless nights. Hence, the TSR jawans have been entrusted with ordinary duty in plain areas. Either it is day or night, the jawans are found at every nook and corner of the city.

On the other hand, the poll fever recently tightened at Kamalpur sub-division in Dhalai district as the Congress hit the dust with election campaign though late. The CPI (M) is seeking votes in favor of peace, development and strategic pro-people policies, while Congress is seeking votes in favor of better amenities like safe drinking water, power and road connectivity.

The opposition political parties laid stress on allegations of corruption, nepotism and malpractices in the induction of Graduate, Under Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers since 2010. A verdict of the High Court of Tripura recently said that 10,323 jobs of teachers inducted in the past four years stands cancelled due to faulty recruitment process of the state government. Congress candidates at Salema, Surma and other areas alleged that CPI (M) leaders, cadres and supporters resorted to large-scale threatening and intimidation to people as the Panchayat election draws nearer, PCC member and prominent leader of Surma constituency Sukharanjan Das said that the opposition is having the chance to be the poll favourite due to massive public discontent against the recruitment policy and nepotism among other issues, 591 Gram Panchayats, 35 Panchayat Samities and eight Zilla Parishads of the state are scheduled to go to general election on July 15.
