AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): Coming down heavily on the opposition parties- Congress, BJP and Trinamool Congress, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today said the country experienced step price rise and inflation during one –month tenure of the saffron party led government.

Narendra Modi had promised to bring good days for the people of the country but common people have been facing same problems what they had experienced during UPA-I and II government, he said while addressing separate election rallies at Charilam Bazar and Durganagar in Bishalgarh subdivision.

“Though the time has not come yet to judge the performance of the Narendra Modi led government at Delhi but during the brief period, the government hiked fuel prices, train fare escalating the overall inflation”, he said. On the Trinamool Congress, Sarkar said the party had suffered humiliating defeat in the last Lok Sabha elections with two candidates failed to make any mark in the electoral battle. In West Bengal, people are realizing the outcome of regime change with the Trinamool Congress unleashing terror across the state, he said.

Seeking votes for the Left Front for the ensuing three-tier Panchayat elections, he highlighted his government’s achievement in extending basic facilities in rural areas. “To make the state developed, it is necessary to improve the basic amenities in rural areas and the government is doing its best to build up urban-like facilities there. During the Left Front regime, facilities like drinking water, electricity, irrigation and healthcare have been extended. And, more needs to be done to improve the face of rural Tripura”, he said.

Sarkar said, “We want to extend the urban like facilities to rural areas and it will be possible only if Left Front appears winner in the upcoming Panchayat elections. I do believe, the people will once again repose faith on the Left Front by making it victories”. At Charilam Bazar, RSP general secretary Shyamal Roy and CPM Bishalgarh divisional secretary Gora Chakraborty also addressed the rally. Besides Chief Minister, ICA Minister Bhanu Lal Saha and Bishalgarh Municipal Council’ Chairman Partha Pratim Majumder also addressed the party’s election rally at Durganagar.
