AR introduces Tele-medicine at Ampi PHC

Ampi, July 9 (TIWN): 15 Bn Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles installed a Tele medicine project at Ampi Primary Health Centre (PHC) to extend medical services to the people of remote areas under Ampi Subdivision. It will be running by the assistance of Ampi Nagar hospital to provide medical treatment for the villagers of Bata Para

In the inaugural function organized by 15 Assam Rifles, simultaneously at PHC, Ampi and village Batapara of Ampi Subdivision on 08 July, Brig A S Berar, VSM, commander HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles dedicated the service of this project to local of Ampi in the presence of Col Avneet Singh Kapoor, SM, Commandant 15 Assam Rifles and 2IC Dr. Satish Kumar, Chief Medical Officer 15 Assam Rifles. The inaugural function received an overwhelming response from the local populace who appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles.

In addition, the 15 Bn Assam Rifles regiment of Taidu litchi garden camp conducted a free medical camp in the TSR camp at Bata Para village yesterday. The medical camp was organized under the supervision of the major Madhur Bhatt, 15 battalion of Assam Rifle of Taidu litchi garden Assam Rifle camp.

The camp was started from about 10-30 am in the morning. A medical team including two doctors of Ampi Nagar hospital attended the medical camp. Satish Kumar, a doctor from Assam Rifle regiment also participated in the medical camp.

According to doctor this is one of the remote areas at Ampi Nagar and the Reang majority of Bata Para village has badly affected by malaria outbreak and people have been suffering from viral fever. With an effort to prevent the malaria epidemic, 15 Bn Assam Rifle authorities took this initiative to rescue the poor villagers from malaria and other diseases.

Around 350 villagers have participated the programme .Among the doctors Malay Rudra Paul, Biswajit Debbarma, Satish Kumar were present there. Around 3 hundred villagers had participated in the camp and they were treated by the doctors properly.

 According to doctors about 30 percent of villagers were diagnosed as malaria positive. Proper blood test, proper body check up and plenty of different prescriptions and medicines were distributed among the patients by the special medical team.
