AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): In Tripura, opposition parties- Congress, Trinamool Congress and BJP could not be able to provide a better alternative as the ruling Left Front will continue to remain in place, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. While addressing in two separate election rallies at Netaji Subhash Mahavidhalaya ground and Chandrapur School ground, the Left Front star campaigner said the Congress had suffered humiliating defeat in the last Lok Sabha elections. “Having rejected by the voters, how come party’s leaders will go to doorstep of voters ahead of Panchayat elections? This time too, voters will give a lesson to the Congress for its anti people policies”, he said.

Sarkar also slammed the Trinamool Congress saying it is an alternative wing of Congress. “I don’t’ need to tell about the Trinamool Congress and their leaders in the state. People know their previous records”, he said.

Appealing voters to vote for the Left Front in the Panchayat elections, Sarkar said the Left Front led government wants to extend urban facilities to the rural areas.

“ The government has been doing its best to provide basic facilities like drinking water, power, irrigation, connectivity and healthcare to the people living in rural areas”, he claimed.

Referring to the last year’s Panchayat election results in some of the Gram Panchayats in Udaipur subdivision, Sarkar said, “The Congress ruled GPs have failed to fulfill the aspirations of villagers. It’s not true, the government has not released fund to the Congress ruled GPs. They got what other GPs have received from the government. In spite of equal distribution of funds, they could not utilize the outlay properly. Now, teach them a lesson by supporting Left candidates”.

Sarkar also criticized the policies of Narendra Modi led government at the Centre. However, he did not utter a word on the uncertainty looms large over 10,000 teachers after High Court’s verdict canceling their services.

DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik, former minister Keshab Majumder and CPM Udaipur divisional committee secretary (MLA) Madhab Saha gave accompany Chief Minister in the twin rallies.
