Heavy traffic jam paused Capital City on | AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Wednesday’s office hours at Agartala kicked off with heavy traffic jams creating chaos across the City. The office routes and life line National Highway from Bordowali to Math Choumuhnai and the other linked roads as Paradise Chowmuhani, Radhanagar, Durga Chowmuhani were paused for hours during the office time, halting the school bus services too. At Math Choumuhnai it was observed there were only two traffic police : one on the traffic post and another on road. Observing the uncontrollable situation some other Dept’s Govt officials also came out of vehicle and helped the traffic police in traffic-management showing the autos, bikers and pedestrians the correct way to go. Union Skill Development Minister announc | AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Amidst much controversy about the corruption held under Tripura Skill Development Mission, the Union Skill Development Minister has announced Rs. 54 crores for Tripura Skill Development for the year. However, how far it will reduce the unemployment burden this has remained under question. However, as the Modi Govt is well aware about the ongoing corruption under Tripura’s various departments, thus it has decided to set up Central Controlled organizations under Skill Development. Budget-effect hits Assembly 3rd day : op | AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): Tripura Govt which has announced about Rs. 600 crores allocation for Govt employees for the year 2017-18, has been slammed by the oppositions at the very beginning of the Assembly 3rd day. Opposition Congress MLA Gopal Roy asked, “What will the Govt do with the allocated only 600 crores for the employees? How State Govt is going to spend the amount ?â€. However, Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha failed to answer the question properly and said, “It’s not possible for the state govt to provide more than Rs. 600 crores. Whatever the salary, allowance will be given it will be from this 600 croresâ€. Reacting over Bhanulal Saha’s comment MLA Biswabandhu Sen said, “The Govt employees have been massively fooled by Tripura Govt againâ€. “At present the Govt is unable to allocate more than 600 crores and within 600 crores the financial year has to be managedâ€, Saha said. ‘Impossible to take liabilities of | AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): Giving a green signal to ‘No-Pay Commission’, ‘No-Pay-review’, Tripura Finance Minister Bhnaulal Saha on Tuesday on the 3rd day of Assembly budget said that presently to hike the budget as per 4th Pay Commission is not possible. Saha clearly announced that even though dhe demand for the salary and pensioners were Rs. 58.399 crores but it has been allocated Rs. 30,501 crores, but it’s not possible to bear the hiked amount of salary, pension under 4rth Pay Commission. “Whatever salary and pension it will be done with Rs. 600 crores for this Financial Yearâ€, said Saha. “It’s quite impossible for the state govt to bring any development under it and pay review will be done with this amount only and it has to be accepted as per the present tight situation of the Finance Dept of Tripuraâ€, Saha added. Unlike Assam, there was no good news for Tripura Govt employees as the much awaited Pay Commission was declined by Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha. Declaring the budget, Saha said, “… Hon’ble Members are aware that Union Government has accepted 7th Pay Commission recommendations for the Central Govt employees and pensioners in July 2016. In consequence to that, the State Finance Dept. has examined thoroughly the fiscal impact to implement them. It has been revealed that a huge amount will be required to meet the requirement in accordance with the accepted recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. But in anticipation to that, neither the 14th Finance Commission nor the govt of India in its budget has made any provision to overcome the financial constraints of the state. NREGA highest mandays award proves state | AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Although Tripura Govt. is boosting about the award once the state received for highest Mandays, but recently a survey revealed that the area which are mostly economically backward are mostly active in NREGA's quantity basis works. In developed places there are less demand for NREGA work as in public works the labours are more paid. It was seen that the demand for work under NREGA had suddenly peaked after demonetization, when public paused various works due to note crisis. The rural development ministry has sought a few thousand crores in additional funds for NREGA, facing a liquidity crunch despite the highest-ever budgetary allocation this year. But apart from that across developed states people hardly care for NREGA works.
