AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): To push Tripura towards Digital Economy, two Central Ministers have arrived in Tripura to inaugurate Digi-Dhan Mela at Agartala. The Digi-Dhan Mela was focused on promoting the seamless economy without cash and to aware the people about how even without internet and smart phones the Digital transaction is possible. Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Minister of State, Heavy Industries & Public Enterprise, Babul Supriya both addressed the fair as well as BJP office to boost PM Modi’s Digital mission. At the beginning of the session, it was said that how dialing *99# one can do mobile banking. Many lucky draw winners were given prizes on that occasion with the hands of these two Ministers. The Ministers motivated the young stars and elders to become lucky draw winner by using E-Economy. Addressing the mass Rudy said, “In a move to push citizens towards less-cash and digital economy, Prime MinisterNarendra Modi has announced lucky draw schemes, 'Lucky Grahak Yojana' and 'Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana', for people who use digital payment methods including e-banking, mobile banking and e-wallets”.

“Once upon a time our grandmothers used to make stock of coins at home and now they are gifting their grandson or grand-daughters via digital mode. Tripura also needs to be connected with the flow of Digi-economy stream. Apart from that Govt of India is taking special care for skill-development across NE and Tripura will get the upmost priority”, said Rudy.

Babul Supriya  said, “Earlier it was thought that only internet and smart phone are parts of digital economy but it’s not true. Dial *99# from one’s mobile handset and access one’s bank account details. No internet is required. The service works across all GSM service providers and handsets. As of now, 51 banks are offering this Mobile Banking service”.

Explaining the scope under *99# the officials explained…. *99# is a USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) based mobile banking service from NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) that brings together Banks & TSPs (Telecom Service Providers). Using *99# service, you as a bank customer can access mobile banking services by dialing *99# from one’s mobile that is registered with the bank. *99# is the common service code across all telecom service providers.

The pre-requisite to use *99# service is that one’s mobile number should have been registered with one’s bank(s) for the mobile banking services. If you are already using mobile banking, he or she will be able to use this service without any additional registration by dialing *99# from one’s GSM mobile handset.

However, many prize distributions sessions were also taken place. In best slogan writing Tirthankar Das received the first prize, Susmita Sengupta received 2nd prize and Ratnadip Dhar 3rd prize. The best slogan of Tirthankar Das was : “Make a Corruption-free Country : Transact Digitally”.
