AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): Although Tripura Govt. is boosting about the award once the state received for highest Mandays, but recently a survey revealed that the area which are mostly economically backward are mostly active in NREGA's quantity basis works. In developed places there are less demand for NREGA work as in public works the labours are more paid. It was seen that the demand for work under NREGA had suddenly peaked after demonetization, when public paused various works due to note crisis. The rural development ministry has sought a few thousand crores in additional funds for NREGA, facing a liquidity crunch despite the highest-ever budgetary allocation this year. But apart from that across developed states people hardly care for NREGA works. But in Tripura poor people queue up in lines as there is an ongoing scrimmage regarding NREGA works, which proves that the state hardly provide much option for works due to nil industrialization and private organization and lack of business.

Infact Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy told PWD Minister that NREGA fund issues should not be given primary focus; neither any Govt aided work scope can bring permanent solution to the economic crisis of the state.

BJP Vice President Subal Bhowmik on Sunday said the NREGA work demand is itself a proof that there is no life, no work scope and opportunity for works and thus people have to depend upon NREGA works.

‘Tripura once known as the land for agriculture and 85 % people were dependent on it but today, state is running with all imported items. There is no productivity and the Agro-based economy has been collapsed under CPI-M Era’, Bhowmik added.

However, Tripura Govt has much problem with NITI Aayog’s implementation and monitoring. Whereas the state is unable to expense the fund in developmental works, on the other hand the govt here is crying for funds; amidst the Central bearing the 90 % funds in various projects.

NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy asked Tripura CM Manik Sarkar on Sept 21st, 2016, “How far the Centre can push the states ? Every developed states are known for own potentialities”.

But instead of various suggestion to promote bamboo plantation, tourism..Tripura Govt is acting just a fund receiver from the Centre. As a result the jobless, workless condition has gripped state Tripura.
