AGARTALA, Feb 21 (TIWN): Giving a green signal to ‘No-Pay Commission’, ‘No-Pay-review’, Tripura Finance Minister Bhnaulal Saha on Tuesday on the 3rd day of Assembly budget said that presently to hike the budget as per 4th Pay Commission is not possible. Saha clearly announced that even though dhe demand for the salary and pensioners were Rs. 58.399 crores but it has been allocated Rs. 30,501 crores, but it’s not possible to bear the hiked amount of salary, pension under 4rth Pay Commission. “Whatever salary and pension it will be done with Rs. 600 crores for this Financial Year”, said Saha. “It’s quite impossible for the state govt to bring any development under it and pay review will be done with this amount only and it has to be accepted as per the present tight situation of the Finance Dept of Tripura”, Saha added. However, at the beginning of the budget day on Monday, before reading out the budget Finance Minister said that it’s the first budget after demonetization. Turning the budget to digital push and with few allowances declaration the budget has allegedly deprived the state govt employees once again.

‘I propose 5 new pension schemes for Folk Artists, Carpenters, Blacksmiths, Potters and Horijons (having no govt employee) belonging to SC, at a monthly rate of Rs. 700/- per beneficiary. This will cost the Govt about Rs. 3.00 crorores and will likely benefit 9000 people. The age for these pension will not be less than 55 and with income of not more than Rs.  Lac per annum’, Saha said.  But this will help a very minimum number of citizens here, alleged oppositions.

TMC and Congress both have slammed the Tripura Govt for this budget, alleging massive deprivation to the state govt employees.
