AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Question raised regarding the 'definition' of power of a Governor and the President of India when the Anti-BJP parties in Tripura one after one directly hitting the present Governor as RSS agent. In an attempt of Anti-BJP drive Tripura MLA cum TMC leader Sudip Barman said on Sunday that Governor Tathagata Roy must have to read the whole content which he had skipped on February 17 on the first day of the Assembly. ‘Both the Governor of a state and the President of the Country can deny to sign the resolutions for the first time, but if the house send the paper back to the Governor and the President without any change, then he or she has to sign it. Same happened in this Assembly too. But may the Governor didn’t like Central Govt's criticism.. but he had no right to skip the content’, said Barman.Antother TMC leader Nakul Das claimed that whatever the Governor had done is fully unconstitutional. Moreover, TMC also accused the Governor is behaving with BJP leader Biplab Deb as his younger brother and others as ‘nobody’.

This comments of TMC members about the Governor, erupted much controversy among the BJP members already.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy had refrained from reading out parts of his written speech which contained the Left Front government’s criticism of the Centre’s policies and decisions, on the opening day of the budget session on Friday. After reading the first two pages, Roy told the House that he would skip the subsequent paragraphs. “I have read out two pages and now I will read out after para 95,” he told the House.

The ruling Left Front members, however, did not react. Roy did not pay heed to the protests and continued to read from paragraph 95.

However, earlier also CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar had accused Tathagata Roy as ‘RSS’. CPI-M also said that there is no need of a Governor in a state.

However, question remains….Is TMC is politicizing Governor’s speech ?  Isn’t it a violation of protocol to accuse a Governor as a political figure ? Is TMC applying over-democracy ?
