Tension prevails in Tripura after 2nd Ea | AGARTALA / SHILLONG, Feb 12 (TIWN): Once again earthquake tremors were felt across Northeast on Sunday. Reportedly, mild earthquake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, rocked Meghalaya and its neighbouring states on Sunday, an official said. The tremor was felt at 9.35 A.M with its epicentre located in the state's East Garo Hills district, an official of the Regional Seismological Centre here said. There were no reports of any casualties or damage. This has generated panic across Tripura too as this is the 2nd earthquake jolt felt here. The last Earthquake’s epicenter was Tripura. Being in Himalayan region, Northeast State Tripura is facing high threats of earthquakes. On last 3rd January also, Tripura had shaken up with 5.7 Magnitude earthquake. Tripura’s 1,600 crores double lan | AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Tripura CM Manik Sarkar during the laying of foundation stone for Agartala-Udaipur route highway by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari lashed out at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alleging that even after his public announcement at Agartala in 2005 for four-laning of National Highway between Churaibari (Assam border) and Agartala, his government sat on the proposal for 10 years and further thanks the BJP Govt for supporting Tripura Govt. However, Gadkari instructed the National Highway Development Corporation Ltd to complete the double-laning work of Agartala-Udaipur and Udaipur-Sabroom (73.71 km) NH within two years. But after the inauguration of the project in 2015, July 1st not even 30 % of the work has been done. In yet another tragic incident, Amarpur Police recovered a body of a woman Anjali Rani Das from a river in Thakcheraa Gram Panchayat under Amarpur Sub Division. Police is suspecting it to be a murder case, and many injuries with sharp weapons has been found on her body. The body was recovered from decease’s own house. Getting alarmed about the incident the Amarpur Police rushed to the spot along with dog squad. “We are suspecting it to be a murder case, as several injuries of sharp weapons has been found on the bodyâ€, said Amarpur police. Deworming tablet threat haunts Tripura s | AGARTALA, Feb 10 (TIWN): Although Tripura Govt claims that already 12 lakhs children, adolescents have brought under the Deworming mission, but after 2016’s bad experiences maximum number of students were absent in schools so that they can avoid the Deworming-tablet consuming episode. Atleast 500 students had fallen sick after they were administered de-worming tablets at Tripura schools in 2016. Panic-stricken parents and local residents staged protests on the hospital premises, following which security personnel were deployed. Health volunteers administered the dose to students in schools and educational institutions across the State as part of the national deworming campaign. S.K.Panda came under massive allegation for selling his ‘C’ class book in various Govt Depts of Tripura by using Central Govt's RMSA funds. Amidst 7 lakhs jobless youths, Tripura C | AGARTALA, Feb 9 (TIWN): Amidst 7 lakhs of unemployed youths Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar once again warns the young generation ‘not to overflow’ with the modern technology as it may destroy the peace of the state and the country. ‘Today youths are unnecessarily flowing with ultra modern technology, which is spoiling the society and damaging the peace’, said Sarkar during a book publication programme held at Rabindra Bhawan on Thursday evening. However, CM didn’t mention what will be the alternative of his Anti-Digital Mission.
