AGARTALA, July 29 (TIWN): Bharatiya Janata Party vice president Surinder Singh Ahluwalia on Tuesday issued a terse warning to Tripura's ruling CPI (M) and alleged post panchayat poll violence and said the BJP led NDA government at centre wouldn't sit back if torture and oppression on BJP leaders and supporters didn't stop. Addressing the media at the party's state headquarters in Agartala, Ahluwalia said that BJP supporters were threatened by death and grievous outcomes after the three tier panchayat polls were held on July 15. Most of the incidents of torture and violence were found to have occurred on July 16, immediately after the elections were held, he said.

A three member central delegation of the party comprising of Vice president SS Ahluwalia, senior leader and national executive Satyanarayan Satiya and MP Tarun Vijay visited post poll violence affected areas in Sonamura sub-division,  Belonia sub-division and Udaipur sub-division on Monday
Referring tonhis experiences during the visit, Ahluwalia said that BJP members were not allowed to socialize at places; their domestic powet connections, water supply were cut, their children forced to skip schools, women barred from collecting drinking water,  even bathing.

"The CPI (M) cadres have physically assaulted 2.5 year old boys, fractured limbs of 6 year old girls and attempted to kil 82 year old women to threaten their families. The police is sitting silent or abetting the criminals", he said. "This is the death of democracy", Ahluwalia added. In a sharp warning, the leader said that the centre was now ruled by the NDA government and no illegal acts of suppression or torture on anybody would be tolerated. He urged party supporters to refrain from being 'polite enough to be trampled', virtually signalling political confrontations in the days ahead.

Ahluwalia claimed that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his government were extending covert support to the political oppression in the state. It was exposed by the inaction of the administration and the police over the situation. The BJP central team is scheduled to submit a fact finding visit report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president Amit Shah after their return to New Delhi today.
The issue would be raised at the Parliament for proper action, Ahluwalia stated.

He criticised the assault on BJP state president Sudhindra Dasgupta at Sonamura sub-division on July 17.
