AGARTALA, July30, (TIWN): To improve the Tourism Industry in North Eastern States, Government of India launched “Bed and Breakfast Scheme†here today at Geetanjali Tourism Guest House. Deputy Director General / Regional Director (N.E) Sanjay Shreevats said attracting foreign tourists in northeast; Govt. of India launched the initiative only for the region.
"Foreign tourist comes here after seeing our ‘Incredible India’. But when they saw the worst conditions of our road and transportation system, they become disappointed that prompted us to look at the issues in different way," he stated.
According to Mr. Sanjay, Central government takes an initiative to complete the task within the time frame for development of the region. And to work on that proposal government launched the Incredible India Bed and Breakfast / Homestay facilities. It will be in two categories-A) Silver for ordinary People and B) Gold for luxury loving people. And for that, the Regional Classification Committee specified few guidelines also.
The Committee also looks out about the facilities of Foreign Tourists, and they also provide all kinds of modern facilities. Tourists wants visits in different locations to see the natural views, so in that point of time if we provide them some local foods, and make for them an arrangement of folk song and tribal dance, it would be a good step for generating revenue and it will provide some new employment in the sector of Hotels and Resorts also in Tourism Department.
And with the help of Tourism they know more about our Rich Tribal Culture and it would be a Unique Tourism Product. The government also thinks about Eco Tourism and Rural Tourism. But to continue this program, we need to more conscious about our activity, like cleaning garbage, uses of plastic products and other accessories also.
