AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): The central team of the Bharatiya Janata Party comprising of the party’s All India Vice President Surinder Singh Ahluwalia, national executive and MP Tarun Vijay and national executive member Satyanarayan Satiya today visited post panchayat poll violence affected areas of the state. The team visited Mohanbhog in Melagarh block, Rabindranagar, Jatrapur, Nirbhaypur, Nidaya areas under Sonamura sub-division. BJP vice president SS Ahluwalia interacted with the victims of post poll violence carried out by CPI (M) cadres since results of the three tier panchayat election was declared on July 18. Special stress would be laid on Ghrantali gram panchayat in Sonamura gram panchayat where assaults were allegedly carried out by CPI (M) supporters to injure the BJP state president on July 17.
"I will take stock of the post poll violence situation across the state. I shall meet the Director General of Police before I leave. I will demand action on all incidents of violence", Ahluwalia told mediapersons during his visit. He addws that the issue would be raised beforemhe Parliament soon. The central delegation would visit Rajnagar block among other affected areas of Belonia sub-division in South Tripura district and Udaipur sub-division in Gomati district later this evening.
A massive team of BJP functionaries of Tripura including state president Sudhindra Dasgupta, vice president, general secretary and chiefs of all frontal organizations and subsidiary cells accompanied the national vice president during his tour today.
