AGARTALA, July 30, (TIWN): Tribal Students Union (TSU), left baked students organisation staged rally in BBM College on Wednesday to press for their 12 -points charter of demand and submitted a memorandum to College Principal demanding immediate action. TSU President Surajit Debarma said that a three members delegation met the Principal after protest rally.
The demands included - ensuring pure drinking water and canteen, separate department for Kokborok language, and immediate recruitment of Kokborok faculty, introduction of promising subjects like Physical Education and Geography, installation of modern class room facilities.
They also demanded erection of boundary walls in the campus, upgadation of power supply and wash rooms for both male and female students.
However, the Principal accepted the justification of the demands and assured to take up the matter with government for implementation.
