All train services to Tripura, Assam sus | New Delhi, Dec 12 (TIWN): Railways has suspended all passenger train services in Tripura and Assam and short-terminated long distance trains to the region to Guwahati following protests in the two states over the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Parliament, a railway spokesperson told PTI on Thursday.The decision was taken Wednesday night in view of the security situation in the region, Northeast Frontier Railway spokesperson Subhanan Chanda said, adding many passengers are stranded in Kamakhya and Guwahati. Anti-CAB Protest Continues in Tripura on | AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): ‘Controversial’ Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) introduced by BJP Govt in the Parliament continues to instigate massive protest across the State Tripura. Regional parties led “Joint Movement†committee blocked road today in Agartala and many other places across Tripura, whereas in Agartala over 300 picketers were arrested by police. Leaders of the “Joint Movement†said that protest will not be stopped if CAB continues to run over the Tripuris sentiments. Central Govt directed that after passing out, their TET Certificates’ validity will be till 2021, 31st March and those who have professional degree their TET Certificates’ validity will be for 7 years.
