GMP cancels December 14 Anti-CAB protest due to tensed situation in State

AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): 35 years power experienced party CPI-M’s indigenous wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) has cancelled December 14’s scheduled protest rally aimed to strengthen the law and order and help the State administration to restore the peace and normality.

Former MP, GMP President Jitendra Choudhury on Wednesday evening has announced this before media.

He also expressed concerns about the deteriorated law and order situation in state.

Choudhury, “We will be always with any protest in democratic way against CAB, but when it creates problems for the administration, it can not be supported anymore. So for now we have postponed our protest although police gave us permission”.

"Whatever happened, it happened but should not repeat again. Moreover a strike can not go for indefinite time..............", Choudhury added in explanation.

It can be mentioned here that Tripura is undergoing 48 hours internet and SMS service shutdown due to law and order problems generated in the state in last 3 days long strike, led many injured.

On yesterday regional parties however withdrew strike after Tripura Govt called the party to exchange dialogues.
