Poor condition of Tripura’s Educa | AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Just within few hours of the declaration of the TBSE HS (+2) on Saturday, the students received a major shock when the board declared the results invalid as the practical number of the subjects were not added in the results sheet. It is to be mentioned here that TBSE Board President Prof. Mihir Deb declared the TBSE Result for class 12th science on 21st May through a press communiqué on Saturday last but just within a few hours of declaration of results the results were declared invalid by the board which has given shock tremors to the students. After declaring the results in the morning TBSE board president has released a notice that the provisional results of science stream of HS (+2) stage examination uploaded in the website does not show the marks of the practical projects, and there are some mistakes as well. | 22-May-2016 |

Deadly Cyclone Roanu results in incessan | AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Deadly Cyclone Roanu impacting Tripura with such incessant rain over past few days that heavy downpours creating flood like situation in the state. Talking to TIWN correspondent, MET official said that the incessant rain the state is due to the Deadly Cyclone Roanu hovering towards Bangladesh. He further said that Tripura recorded a total of 45.6 mm rainfall till 8.30 in the morning on Saturday. Incessant rainfall that Agartala had been witnessing for the last two days had disrupted normal life in the state. Thousands of people are trapped in the road due to the continuous rain and water logging at several parts of the city. Gangetic West Bengal and Tripura swathes of which were inundated by overnight showers, will continue to receive rains in the next 24 hours as cyclonic storm "Roanu" skirts the state's coast and makes landfall in Bangladesh by next Friday, the Met office said on Saturday. Roanu is likely to move along Bengal coast and cross Bangladesh coast close to Chittagong by Saturday evening and inundate low-lying areas of coastal districts, said the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC). At least one died and about 200 families have taken shelter in the refugee camps. Several areas including Railway colony Slum, Rajbari, Nayapara, Shivbari these many are left inundated with water. Commuters got stranded in many parts of Dharmanagar major roads were flooded due to poor condition of drainage lines. Some of the internal roads were inundated for hours. There were also reports of rain water causing damage to shops and housing blocks. There is no proper system to drain out water accumulating on roads.
