AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): As per Exit Poll results of almost all leading news channels Mamata Bannerjee is bound to return to power with a thumping majority in West Bengal isnpite of continuous negative campaign against her done by CPI-M and Congress and that too encouraged by a large section of media led by ABP group . This will surely make a significant impact as far as the internal politics of CPI-M party is concerned . There is no doubt that inspite of massive discontent among the large section of CPI-M central committee members CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury under the pressure of party's Bengal lobby gave the signal to form alliance with Congress in West Bengal poll. Initially a particular section of party's Bengal lobby thought that it would do a miracle defeating Mamata Banerjee led TMC Gov't .

This decision as usual gave rise to a massive controversy even among the CPI-M's leadership .

Known for its hardliner attitude Prakash Karat & his lobby was against this alliance . Even during the 7 phases West Bengal poll Prakash Karat didn't come to attend a single programme in Bengal .

Even known to be in Karat lobby , Chief Minister  Manik Sarkar on Lenin's birth anniversary programme held in Rabindra Bhawan made the so called remark of ' 3rd kid' about his party . This remark has practically created division among party's state unit ( as said by Melarmath source ) though none is making any comment about it in public .

But if CPI-M wins in Kerala, which is almost certain , this will mean a victory of Karat lobby . Prakash Karat and his loyal Pinarai Vijayan  have years of rivalry with  92 years old V S Achhuthanandan but eyeing the consequence of poll bound Kerala , Karat lobby had to compromise with VS by giving him party ticket in this election . And the impact is visible as Exit Poll of all channels have already predicted a landslides victory of CPI-M in Kerala .

After the poll debacle in West Bengal , CPI-M party in Tripura too is likely to suffer a great problem. First of all TMC will try its best to strengthen its belt in Tripura with an aim to teach a good lesson to Congress. And if TMC gets its momentum , it will be a big problem for Manik Sarkar because TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is a hardcore anti-CPI-M . And no one can raise any question about the honesty of Mamata. And presuming the on going situation CPI-M Central committee is rethinking about its policy about Tripura.

The tribal lobby of  Tripura especially Gana Mukti Parishad is gradually trying to gain strength in support of Jitendra Chowdhury as the Chief Ministerial candidate for 2018 Assembly Poll. And after being elected in the Lok Sabha in 2014 Jitendra Choudhury has successfully made his presence as MP . Extremely popular among the tribals in Tripura Jitendra Chiudhury was certain to be sworn as the Chief Minister in 2013 but it was Prakash Karat , who took the initiative to subdue him and after this Manik Sarkar made the blue print to send to Delhi politics to make his chair unopposed.

Since 2014 Lok Sabha poll CPI-M strength in tribal belts has been decreasing rapidly . In all the elections held after 2014 CPI-M's vote percentage in tribal belts considerably decreased . And these days state BJP after Biplab Deb's appointment as President is mailing its impact in ADC areas. During the last three months more than 2000 hardcore tribal families shifted from CPI-M to BJP . And even BJP President Biplab Deb openly urged all tribal parties to form Maha Jot against CPI-M in 2018 . This is indeed alarming especially for CPI-M. That's why CPI-M is learnt to be looking for alternative. Thus, presently Manik Sarkar may look undisputed leader , his supremacy will be challenged in 2018.
