Whereas Tripura has become the den for rapists and there would be hardly any day when women are not victimized here either its rape or any other issue DGM K Nagraj is now a days busy in showing eye-dazzling data on 'decreasing' Crime-rate in Tripura.

According to Nagraj press release in December 2016 it says, “……….During this year, the total overall registration of crimes against women has come down to 977 cases as against 1221 in 2015 and 1531 cases in 2014.  Cases related to torture upon women by husband or relatives of husband, has come down to 410 cases as against 466 in 2015 and 665 cases in 2014.

Dowry death cases have come down to 15 as against 27 in 2015 and 35 cases in 2014. Rape cases have come down to 189 during this year as against 197 in 2015 and 225 in 2014. Molestation cases have come down to 202 as against 323 in 2015 and 437 in 2014. Elopement cases have come down to 10 as against 110 in 2015 but marginally increased as compared to 2015 (93 cases). In this condition, the rape incidents increasing day by day but police is relaxed to take these issues seriously resulting increasing crimeagainst women.

Despite of several tall claims by the authority that the crime against women has decreased here in Tripura, day by day the crime against women are increasing. Overall scenario of crime against women in Tripura is increasing at an alarming rate. Tension prevails with this tragic incident over the locals.

Of late crime against women are increasing at an alarming rate which includes torture, rape, murder and various other illicit act on the women by miscreants and sometimes by the family members themselves.
