Media-pressure led Health Dept Officials | AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): After 48 hours of passage finally Tripura Health Dept Officials have visited the SSA teachers on Thursday to check their health condition, out of media pressure. However, asking the teachers they have strongly condemned Tapan Chakraborty's statement of Wednesday evening via a press conference. Whereas the Minister said that many states couldn't regularize the SSA teachers, the teachers said, "This is a total lie as the states those had asked the Central Govt to regularize the teachers, they have given permission and all states have regularized the teachers who crossed 5 years of their jobs. As per MHRD guidelines also state govt is bound to regularize the teachers". But surprisingly, no Education Dept official had visited the teachers who are sitting at hunger strike in Paradise Chowmuhani. Indo-Bangla smuggling via Tripura at hig | AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): Increasing Indo-Bangla smuggling cases have become rampant via Tripura as once again Airport officials have arrested one Bangladeshi with 40 pieces of gold on Thursday. The suspected person is a Bangladeshi citizen identified as Shah Alam. Alam was moving from Tripura to Kolkata via SpiceJet but during luggage checking the hidden gold pieces kept inside his luggage had been identified by SpiceJet employees. The SpiceJet was scheduled to leave at 10.10 AM numbered SG-277 that had arrived from Kolakta at 9.40 AM. A tension had emerged when SpiceJet workers caught the bag red handed and officials were questioning why he was bearing the gold. Airport police has rushed to the spot and the inquiry is going on. SSA teachers write letter to Prime Minis | AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): Volte faced CPI-M Govt's cold response to SSA teachers hunger strike since two days, in a move for solution the SSA teachers have written letters to the Prime Minister asking central govt's intervention to the complex SSA teachers' issue of Tripura about regularization. Why No medical aid for Hunger Strikers ? | AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): A total 44 SSA teachers have been continued their hunger strike on day 2 with a huge response from the SSA teachers working across the Govt schools. Total 44 teachers are in strike, whereas many SSA teachers are coming to meet them and delivering speeches to encourage them. But surprisingly, the role of Tripura Govt is just empty here. Talking to the strikers demonstrating at Paradise Chowmuhani, they alleged neither any political party members nor any govt official has been visited there eventhough the strike was held amid the full knowledge of the state govt. Minimum health service or visit of a doctor is expected when public are in hunger strike.
