Stone-pelting on running trains, a chall | AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Saturday night’s stone-pelting on the Udaipur-Agartala local train, is not the first such case that Railway is dealing with, but it has become a day to day event but seen with negligence. After the TIWN news publication, in feedbacks received from readers the increasing stone pelting on running trains came under focus. However, either express or locals but the stone-pelting has turned a matter of concern for Railway Dept as well as the everyday passengers. Railway officials inspected after a woman was injured in a running train on Saturday evening, but similar incidents happens many times earlier. It has become quite a challenge to get rid of similar incidents. Udaipur-Agartala local train hitting by | AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): Udaipur-Agartala train service is continuously suffering from sudden stone pelting incidents, since the train was inaugurated in 2017, January 24. On Saturday a woman passenger was injured on head when some unknown miscreants threw stone on the train. A big stone was found after it hit on her head, however no serious injuries was reported. This incident created a tension among the passengers of the running local train. Earlier allegation came that after the bus service was facing losses since the train service had begun and thus stone pelting came in fashion. The train service will be resumed after Aug-29, a Railway Official of Agartala Railway Station told TIWN. It has been informed that the Ram Rahim bhaktas not only burnt the Tripura Sundari Express train's two bogies but in various spots had damaged the railway tracks. ‘Bogies will be replaced in time, but unless and until tracks are back to forms, nothing can be done’, the official added. New Rs. 200 notes launched in India : Bu | AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): The new Rs 200 notes although was said to be circulated from Friday, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Thursday, but it will take one or two days to enter in Northeast. A State Bank source said the notes have not come yet even at Guwahati. The Rs 200 denomination banknote in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) series will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urjit R. Patel and will be initially issued by select RBI offices and some banks. It has the motif of the Sanchi Stupa on the reverse while its base colour is bright yellow. The move is aimed at increasing the circulation of smaller denomination notes. "Introduction of a new currency denomination and design is done keeping in consideration various factors like ease of transactions for the common man, replacement of soiled banknotes, inflation and the need for combating counterfeiting," the RBI said post the announcement. The central bank, while announcing the move on Thursday, said that the Rs. 200 notes will act as a missing link and make it easier for people to transact in lower denomination currency, thereby bringing greater efficiency into the system. | 25-Aug-2017 |

With this incident the PWD led corruption has been exposed once again on Thursday night. The bridge which was the life-line of Amarpur-Teliamura has been fully collapsed, although by fortune no life was killed so far. The complains regarding the bridge was done time to time in the PWD office of Amarpur but no serious action had taken by the authority at there, alleged the locals of Amarpur. The Rangamati Wooden bridge was collapsed in the late evening when a brick-carrying tripper was riding on it.
