AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): Krishna temples across the state is being decorated for Jhulan-Yatra.
This time Jhulan Yatra will begin from August 3rd and preparation on peak at Agartala Jagannath Bari to mark the auspicious occasion.
Jhulan Purnima programme will kick of the festive mood in state as people are now eagerly waiting for the Durga Puja celebration that would begin after less than 2 months.
Jhulan Yatra is one of the most important festivals for the followers of Lord Krishna celebrated in the monsoon month of Shravan. Jhulan Yatra is a swing festival observed in the month of Shravan Month (July – August) and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Jagannath.
After Holi and Janmashthami, it is the biggest and most popular religious occasion of the Vaishnavas. Jhulan Yatra 2017 (dates) is from August 3 to August 7.
