Civil Secretariat Gheraoed by Terminated | AGARTALA, Sep 23 (TIWN): In a "Do or Die" situation for 10323 Teachers, massive Protests, Tussles with Police erupted today on Secretariat Road whereas many of the teachers were injured including Women in Lathi-Charge. But breaking all police barricades, the teachers have blocked the Secretariat. Police used water-cannons on them after they denied to leave the space. Today the terminated teachers came in massive protest before Secretariat followed by yesterday's Ratanlal Nath's press meet which has failed to assure the teachers about any job security whereas before the election, BJP had promised something else. To control the situation, police imposed "lathi-charge" on them but the numbers of teachers were so high that police could not stop the teachers. Amid 7 lakhs of unemployment, less than 2000 appointment in non-technical posts in Tripura although CM Biplab Deb promised about 10,000 job appointments soon 21st September in the Assembly. As per Education Minister Ratanlal Nath's press meet's primary impression reported from the Secretariat around 10,868 posts may be total recruited out of which 1,280 posts will be LDC and 9268 posts for multipurpose workers and other few posts. For these posts the 10,323 teachers may apply till 31, 2023 and these jobs will be Fixed Pay system and will be taken by a New institutions but not TPSC. This has generated much resentment among the students as there will be a major communication gap with the new teachers. Seeking no transfer amid pandemic, the students of Bodhjung H.S School came in protest asking the Education Dept atleast to hold the decision for this academic year. However, for the violence the total blame goes to the ruling BJP as they all were engaged in violence provocation statewide including capital city Agartala. CM Biplab Deb's 7 Lakhs Job Creation pro | AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has once again failed to fulfill his promise to the people of his state and this time it is to the unemployed youths whom he promised to give 7 lakhs jobs in 30 months in an interview to a newspaper. However there are lots of similar promises which BJP Govt could not fulfill including 50,000 Govt Jobs in 1st one year. Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) as per its monthly surveys on unemployment has said that Tripura is the second topper in unemployment rate in the whole Northeast region, whereas in the whole country it’s in second position. As per CMIE’s monthly data, Tripura has recorded 27.9% unemployment rate, which is the second highest in whole country after Haryana which is at 33.5%.
