AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): The CPI-M party has paid tribute to murdered journalist Santanu Bhoumik on his 3rd death anniversary, who was lynched in a political violent environment before Assembly Election 2018. The main accused persons in his murder case are from IPFT party, the party in alliance with Tripura BJP in power now.

Addressing media, youth leader Nabarun Deb said, "Santanu lost his life in IPFT's political incident in 2017 after he went to collect news from there at Jirania. Santanu was SFI, DYFI member and then joined journalism. Santanu was a brave journalist and in this process, he lost his life in the gathering of Tipraland demand. It was BJP, IPFT's jointly created pre-poll disturbing situation which hit that time and in such a gathering for Tipraland, it costed Santanu's life".

"In honour to Santanu, we will create massive unity among the people and to end the divisive, destructive politics for this land forever. This will be biggest honour to late journalist Santanu Bhoumik", said Nabarun Deb.
