AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): Giving excuse of not being able to maintain both the charges of HOD of AGMC's pharmacology department and Medical Superintendent, Dr. Debashis Ray on Saturday resigned from his Medical Superintendent post. In this situation if utter crisis, Dr. Ray's resignation created a lot of questions among people. From many days, GB's working doctors, medical staffs and the administrative members are suffering from both the political pressure and incompetent GB's health service system. Few days back one on duty doctor said infront of camera that there's not enough ICUs and ventilation service in GB hospital then what can the doctors do? Now this pressure on doctors came out to be more intense after Dr. Ray's resignation from MS post immediately after filing FIR against Biomedical Instrumentation Engineer Ratul Dey who saved GB hospital by fixing the oxygen line on 11 September night.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Debashis Ray resigned from his post immediately after filing FIR against Ratul Dey.On 17 September, Dr. Ray filed an FIR against Ratul Day in NCC PS claiming his presence on that night in GB hospital was illegal. It is to mention that, Biomedical Engineer Ratul Dey entered in GB hospital by following all the necessary rules like wearing PPE and on duty Doctors helped him in every way that time. Also, his presence saved hundreds of lives of patients admitted in GB hospital who could die for the lack of oxygen as no one else was there to fix the line.

On Saturday, police called Dey for investigation purpose. And on that very day Superintendent Dr. Debashis Ray gave his resignation from the Medical Superintendent post. Is it the sign of extreme pressure by politician out of their dirty politics that forced Dr. Ray to resign from his post? Netizens asked.

However, Dr. Ray did not mention any such issues in his resignation letter. He said that handling pressure of both the MS and HOD of a department is difficult and not possible for him to continue anymore.
