Nation’s brave son sacrificed lif | AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Thousands of people thronged to see the great son of Tripura who sacrificed his life for his mother land, at his own residence in Kalyanpur, Khowai. Martyr Chittaranjan Debbarma’s body received the last funeral process as per his religion in his own residence. Khowai subdivision has descended into gloom as the body Chittaranjan Debbarma, who was killed in the militant attack at Nagrota, was brought in on Friday at his home, whereas at Agartala his body came on Thursday. Seven soldiers, including two officers, was mercilessly killed by Pakistan militants, in a huge terror attack at an army base near Jammu in the town of Nagrota, just 20 kilometres from the border with Pakistan. A group of heavily-armed suicide attackers in police uniforms entered the army base in Nagrota before daybreak with guns and grenades and forced their way in. They entered buildings where there were army officers' families, which led to a hostage-like crisis, an army statement said. The attack is reminiscent of January's deadly strike on an air force base in Pathankot, and comes just two months after 19 soldiers were killed by Pakistani terrorists at an army camp in Uri. | 02-Dec-2016 |

The government of India has taken another sudden decision when the common men here suffering from huge cash-crisis as the banks here are not allegedly circulating 500 rupees fresh notes in Tripura. Reportedly, the petrol pump dealers alleged that they are lacking short notes and it’s not possible for them to exchange everyday money like this and thus the announcement brought a certain relief for the petrol pump dealers. The RBI announced on Thursday that the old notes of Rs 500 would be accepted at petrol pumps and airports till just 2 December, as opposed to 15 December announced earlier. Health Minister claims high on World AID | AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): No doubt about that Tripura State AIDS control Society has taken many initiatives to prevent AIDS here in the state and already 200 villages have been covered under the project, where Link Worker Scheme is doing a great job. Under 22 ICTC, 60 FICTC and 2 PPPICTC the counseling is held, and also awareness camps are regularly done to prevent AIDS. In total 13 NGOs are in action to prevent AIDS in Tripura. At Bhangmun Hospital of Jampui, Kailashahar Dist Hospital via OST centers the drug is supplied freely. Govt also declared that Agartala GB Hospital, Udaipur, Kulai Hospitals are functioning to serve free drugs. At GB Hospitals there are special test for the children also.
