AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): Voicing against the long deprivation of the Manipuri students, here in Tripura, a student forum raised voice for their mother tongue.

In a 5 hrs long protest held before North Gate, the students raised voice for the recognition of their language in Tripura schools.

According to them, although in 1998, the language was granted in Tripura schools, but not a single Manipuri teacher has been recruited here, which resulted in poor language skill among Manipuri boys and girls.

The protest was held by Tripura Manipuri Chatra Yuva Samannyoy Committee on Friday.
