KAMALPUR, Dec 2 (TIWN): The free flow of contraband items through the Kumarghat- Agartala NEC road via Kamalpur has casted deep impact on the sub-division of Kamalpur too. And the impact has become so intense that a contraband selling youth has dared to sell the contraband items in broad daylight with the help of an advocate’s clerk. The youth often condemns the roll of police as he has the firm belief of managing police through that clerk. However, police has denounced all the facts and has demanded to adopt strong action against the practise.

Recently, during last four or five months a youth namely Biplab Ghosh from the Lambucharra area has become active enough in selling contraband items like cough syrup and tablets in and around the sub-divisional town of Kamalpur. It has remained a matter that, he has got some profit mongering persons as his close aides. One among them is an advocate’s clerk and another has remained a fish merchant. Both of them have left their traditional business and have got engaged into the illegal trade. Most interestingly, the alleged advocate’s clerk has somehow managed a free pass into the police station and his main occupation has turned into escaping the detained persons from the police station after the evening. He has convinced Biplab that police would cause no harm to him as the advocate’s clerk has managed everything. Moreover, the fish merchant has also left his traditional business and has attained the duty of sticking to Biplab all day around.

Now, the OC Pannalal Sen has clearly denounced of any such closeness with contraband dealer and also has ensured of stringent measures. What measure the police would adopt has remained the matter to see.
