Minister Ratanlal Nath embarrassed a Jou | AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): Education Minister Ratanlal Nath on Tuesday has embarrassed a journalist in Secretariat with banking GK related question about Tripura, when the Minister was asked about employment generation status categorically in rural and urban divisions. When the journalist in reply of Minister's question said that he does not have idea about what the Minister is asking, Minister Ratanlal Nath said, how come a journalist does not know about such things, when world is seeing revolution in the field and specially when journalism has turned ‘Investigative’ one. However, with all these chaos, Minister Ratanlal Nath did not answer the main question which was asked by the journalist on employment. He added some data without subtitle that CPI-M has committed a major sin by doing a wrong thing in 1948 but due to pending decision in cabinet he would not say anything about that. Diesel Price records highest in history, | AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): With the national jumping up in fuel price hikes, Tripura has recorded highest ever Diesel price. On Monday, in Agartala Diesel Price was Rs. 75.20 and petrol price Rs. 80.46. Today’s diesel rates in Agartala are very sensitive to global crude prices. Petrol prices in Agartala have been turning more volatile, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm trend. Today’s petrol price in Agartala ₹ 80.46 (29th June 2020). The government on March 14 hiked excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 3 per litre each and then again on May 5 by a record Rs 10 per litre in case of petrol and Rs 13 on diesel. The two hikes gave the government Rs 2 lakh crore in additional tax revenue. Currently, at the national capital, Delhi, Petrol costs Rs 80.38 a litre and diesel 80.40 per litre. Mumbai’s petrol prices touched Rs 87.14 a litre, while diesel went up to Rs 78.71 a litre. In Kolkata, the prices were at Rs 82.05 and Rs 75.52 a litre, respectively. Petrol prices in Agartala have been turning more volatile, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm trend. Today’s petrol price in Agartala Rs. 80.41 (28th June 2020). Today’s diesel rates in Agartala are aso very sensitive to global crude prices.The rupee has also moved lower against the dollar, which has made petrol prices in Agartala more expensive than before. It is hoped that the government can reduce excise duties, so as to enable rates to become more cheaper in the coming days.As per the latest data by the oil marketing companies, petrol costs Rs 80.38 per litre in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 80.40/litre. Both petrol and diesel have seen Rs 9.12 and Rs 10.17 per litre hike, respectively, since June 7. For the first time, diesel costs more than petrol in the national capital. Taxes form about two-thirds of the total retail selling price of petrol and diesel.
