Cabinet meeting makes TET compulsory as | AGARTALA, December 30 (TIWN): After a long hiatus Tripura cabinet meeting today decided to make Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) compulsory as per the National Council for Education and Training NCERT guidelines. Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted with a total of 150 marks, where a candidate have to score at least 60% and the recruitment under the TET will be done on merit basis, said State Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty. Speaking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat today Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that the state govt. has decided to make the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) compulsory for the recruitment of the teachers in future.The cabinet meeting today decided to frame a 5 members Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) comprising of Chairman and director and rest as a members, said Tapan Chakraborty. Chambal fertilizer plant in Tripura: ONG | AGARTALA, December 30 (TIWN): Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) marked its foray into fertilizer segment by tying up with Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals (CFCL) for setting up a urea fertilizer plant at Khubal in Tripura. Talking to TIWN today ONGC Asset Manager V.P. Mahawar said that the works for the largest industrial initiative would begin early next year after the testing of the drilled wells ends up. “We have drilled wells at Khubal following the set up of Chambal fertilizer plant, and now we are testing those later after which we will come to know about the quantity of gas available in the wells for enough supply to the fertilizer plantâ€, said Mahawar talking to TIWN. OTPC Unit-II undergoing routine check up | AGARTALA / UDAIPUR, December 30 (TIWN): Palatana OTPC power plant - a joint venture of ONGC, Il&FS and the Tripura government is likely to start its Unit- II 363.3 megawatt (MW) gas-based Unit commercial generation soon after the routine checkup ends, said ONGC Asset Manager V.P. Mahawar. Palatana OTPC Unit – II is now undergoing through a routine checkup. Talking to TIWN today ONGC Asset Manager V.P. Mahawar briefing the current status of the Palatana OTPC plant said that the second unit is already synchronized and there are no disturbances on either units. The officials are conducting routine checkup of the Unit – II, once completed the Commercial Generation (CoG) will be declared soon, said Mahawar. The first unit of 363.3MW was inaugurated on June 21, 2013 and commercial operations started on January 4, 2014.Asked about any disturbances in the turbines of both the units due to the fog recently, Mr. Mahawar said that it is absolutely no issue as the plant has been set up with modernized equipments, though the fog recently has brought minor disturbances in the turbines in regard of air intakes. Tripura employees deprived from ESIC fac | AGARTALA, December 30 (TIWN): Tripura Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) targeted for depriving the employees of the state. Allegedly the employees of the state Tripura are getting deprived from the state ESIC facilities at large. According to the locals, the employees of some non seasonal organization in the state are not getting the benefit under the state ESIC scheme.A section of some deprived employees alleged that under the ESIC scheme when any person goes to the pharmacy shop and asked for a prescribed medicines, they had to return back empty handed, as the medical shopkeepers makes it unavailable. Whereas, as per the Act, 12%is being deducted from one’s salary every months. It is being seen that any individual working under a non seasonal organization goes to ESIC to get a benefit of the health care facility, they referred the person to the GB Pant hospital to get prescribed from a doctor. Any departments of State Govt act upto the mark with best efficiency. But the CAG Report of 2012-2013 fiscal states a completely different story. Home (Police) department seriously failed to collect deployment charges of security personnel in different Central & State departments and PSUs.In their report CAG stated that, each and every wing of police suffered the same loss. CAG also expressed astonishment that, every time the authorities submitted bill for current charges and not mentioned about the outstanding amount. As a result, amount remained as outstanding pending bill for a considerable period of years.According to the report, upto May 2013 the SP (West) had an outstanding deployment charge of 4, 97, 71,632 rupees. SP (Gomati) had an outstanding of deployment charges from banks amounting to 2, 08, 80,064 rupees. The amount under SP (Dhalai) was 3, 06, 49,295 rupees and 2, 28, 33,349 rupees to different banks of this district. On that day UMC decided that from 21/12/2014 the vacant places inside Lake City Shopping Complex, just opposite of UMC office, will be used as Paid Parking Zone. And even the businessmen having stalls in the Lake City Shopping Complex are to pay for parking their vehicles. On the following day itself the Businessmen's Association of Shopping Complex protested against this Tughluqian decision of the UMC and blocked the main road in front of UMC Office for more than three hours. And under pressure from all corners UMC Chairperson Manika Das ultimately decided that for those having stalls inside Shopping Complex will be allowed to park their vehicles in a selected place free of cost. Accordingly an official team was scheduled to visit the place and locate a free parking place for them. Bishalgarh RD Block under BDO Bimal Chakraborty cleverly led the corruption scenario in terms of MGNREGA fund manipulation. After Bimal’s arrest, remaining BDOs reeling under fear, so they stopped fabrication of mandays, which explains the reason behind poor 25 mandays average during 2014-15 fiscal.
