Baikhora, December 28 (TIWN): Baikhora is an important center for handicrafts as the best quality sheetal pati is woven in Tripura. New production centre at Baikhora was started with the vision of becoming a centre for making good quality & marketable products from Bamboo and Sheetal Pati, Fifteen artisans were trained by trainers from ICF, Bangalore through several rounds of training on making contemporary products from sheetal pati and bamboo.

Artisans from Baikhora were trained in making new design sheetal patti and bamboo mat based products.

More trained artisans  making various products. Skilled artisans already  employed at the center after the training.

The artisans were also trained in using Industrial sewing machine (Juki machine) to increase productivity.

The center has been producing training bags and folders to be used during conference and trainings, the newly trained artisans will help the center increase its productivity and income. 

Baikhora common facility center is a living example how village housewives can turn a business into success with sheer determination and dedcated work - both these qualities mostly missing among Tripura's  trained babudoms - Govt officers, TCS, IAS officers, Ministers.
